Australia's mortgage marketplace, and a suite of products I led for brokers, borrowers and property buyers, with AI at the core.
Hashching is Australia's first mortgage broking platform, connecting home-loan borrowers with mortgage brokers. My remit as Head of Product, and later product strategy lead and adviser, was never one product. It was to build and grow an entire ecosystem across brokers, borrowers and property, and to monetise it.
Across my time there I led product on multiple connected builds that together made broking faster, safer and more profitable:
A complete workspace where brokers manage clients from first enquiry all the way to settlement. Brokers are matched to leads through a scoring model I designed, so matching was never random: it weighed criteria like the customer's preferred language, how urgently they needed to buy, and the broker's experience in that specific loan type, among others. Brokers could also bring their own leads, then work every deal in one place. I added tools that stripped out the slow, unsafe parts of broking: pulling a client's credit report and retrieving bank statements electronically and securely, instead of chasing them over email. And I built an AI-driven fact-find and document-collection flow, a conversational assistant over SMS, web form, email or the app that asks each client the right questions at the right stage, prompts them to upload or photograph documents, then files everything back into the broker's platform automatically, verified and ready. It saves brokers hours of copying, chasing and checking.

A borrower-facing portal that turned a mortgage from a set-and-forget product into a living relationship. A customer logs in to see their whole loan at a glance: their interest rate as of today, how much they still owe, their repayments, and their property's current value, all retrieved live through APIs, along with exactly how much equity they hold, calculated against an up to date estimated value of their property. The portal then compares their rate against other lenders in the market in real time, so the moment a refinance opportunity opens up they can see it, with special offers surfaced to reward them for acting. And it reaches beyond the loan into the home itself: partnered renovation and property-maintenance services are one tap away, making it a genuine one-stop shop for everything to do with owning the home. AI runs underneath it all, watching each customer's loan and equity position, working out when refinancing or a home service is actually worth it for them, and surfacing the right offer and next step at the right moment. This was one of the first customer-facing portals of its kind in Australia, and not just among brokers and aggregators but among the banks too, and one of the most sophisticated.

A real-time lead-auction platform I built from the ground up. Incoming home-loan leads are pre-qualified through 10 to 12 questions and asked their preferred day and time to be contacted, then released to the auction one at a time, key details shown but contact details withheld. Brokers bid live under a full ruleset: minimum increments, timing between bids, anti-sniping on last-minute bids, and quality and scam controls. The winning broker is handed the lead automatically and reaches out at the customer's chosen time.

A modern property-finding platform, under its own brand, that helps brokers source off-market properties for clients who have just secured pre-approval. Every listing carries the developer, bedrooms and bathrooms, floor plans, location, and full suburb and property reports. From there we could arrange inspections, pest inspection and snagging, and once the client committed, manage the entire purchase process on the broker's behalf.

MRR up 15% and lead-auction revenue up 20%, with new B2C and property revenue lines and partnership integrations launched. Together these four products turned Hashching from a single marketplace into a connected ecosystem spanning brokers, borrowers and property, each one opening a new revenue line and reinforcing the others.
Always happy to talk product, AI, and interesting opportunities.
